General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President of China Xi Jinping and his spouse are paying a State visit to Vietnam. The visit on December 12-13 is made at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and his spouse, and President Vo Van Thuong and his spouse.

President Vo Van Thuong leads a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing, China, from October 17-20. His trip is made at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of China Xi Jinping.

President of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Yoon Suk Yeol paid a state visit to Vietnam from June 22-24 at the invitation of President Vo Van Thuong.

The 15th National Assembly elected Vo Van Thuong as the new President of Vietnam at its fourth extraordinary session on March 2.
